What is
Project Serum?

It's the simplest pitch in the building: one hospital, a lobby full of people, and an unlimited supply of extremely bad medicine. Everyone is holding a syringe. Everyone is a target. Nobody is having a normal shift.

No combat trees. No meta-progression to explain. If you can understand "don't let them get you", you already know how to play — which is the point. It's built to be understood in ten seconds and clipped in thirty.

Chase.
Grab. Chaos.

The whole loop, three beats long.

  1. 01

    Chase

    Pick a victim. They already know. That's half the fun — the ten seconds before anything actually happens, where everyone is screaming about doors.

  2. 02

    Grab

    Hold them down while the syringe empties over about a second and a half. They're mashing to break free the whole time. Sometimes they make it.

  3. 03

    Chaos

    Then they have to live with it. A giant head in a narrow corridor is a genuine tactical problem. Slippery feet are worse.

  • Sneezing

    Involuntary. Loud. Moves you backwards.

  • Slippery Feet

    Steering becomes a suggestion rather than an instruction.

  • Giant Head

    Doorways are now a puzzle. So is everything else.

  • Tiny Legs

    You have somewhere to be. You will not be getting there.

  • Giggling

    Random, uncontrollable, and it gives away your position.

    The pool is still growing while the prototype is being tested.

The studio

Mad Craft Studio is a one-person studio building small, loud, deliberately-made games.

The mark is folded paper: precise, angular, put together on purpose. That's the studio. What I put inside it is another matter entirely — which is roughly the arrangement I'm going for.

Project Serum is my first title. It won't be the last.
